Do You Have to Take Showers in Heaven? And Other Kid Questions About Our Forever Home with God is a delightfully fun, endearing and spiritual guide to answering many of the simple, yet complex, questions children wonder about the afterlife. The book is Biblically sound and scripturally based, yet written so children can easily understand the concept of heaven. The author does of fabulous job of reinforcing the notion that no question is too small for a big God to handle. This is a must-have addition to the library of any parent who wishes to teach their child more about heaven.”

Kevin Aldridge, opinion editor Cincinnati Enquirer and pastor African Methodist Episcopal Church

“This is a wonderful set of questions and answers fueled by children’s imaginations. Lindsey, through her responses, not only cares that they seek out Scripture for their answers, but also desires to stimulate their imaginations. As readers navigate all the unique questions about Heaven, you get fun truths about Christ, Heaven, the afterlife and even hard truths about the tougher aspects of eternity. Every child or parent who reads this invites themselves to open their minds creatively to learn more about what God has in store for us after this life ends.”

Zach Hibbard, youth pastor

“Honest questions deserve honest—and Biblical—answers. Kids have all kinds of questions about heaven and this book provides honest responses in an engaging and fun way. I highly recommend Do You Have to Take Showers in Heaven? for your family’s library so you’re ready when the questions come!”

We read a daily devotional as a family in the evening, but I was attracted to this book as one that my pre-teen daughter could read and do on her own. It is written in a very fun way that engages kids with interesting questions and also encourages them to open their bibles and check out the various answers for themselves. I love that it makes the bible accessible and relevant while also encouraging them to journal their own thoughts to various prompts. I will definitely be ordering a few more copies for other kids in my life!

Love it! This is a fantastic, interactive book of kids questions (with Biblical answers) about Heaven. It’s been great b/c we look up verses together (for my 6 yr old) and it also brings on more questions from both boys! There’s areas where the kids can get creative too!

This book presents the gospel in a creative, yet theologically sound manner. It asks fun questions to engage your children and make them think, but always pulling them back to scripture. Lindsey Hilty has a fun writing style and we are thoroughly enjoying this book.

5.0 out of 5 stars Theologically sound but completely approachable

We know kids ask the craziest questions (often the ones adults are even embarrassed to ask but wonder about). This book is a rich collection of questions about heaven that combine a child’s imagination with a biblical guide. We don’t know everything about heaven, but that doesn’t mean we don’t know anything either. The author pulls together the biblical narratives about God and the direct passages about heaven to give young readers a helpful guide. Then she encourages a healthy dose of imagination through thoughtful application points in each section. The goal seems not to be to make definitive statements (the biblical language about heaven is not like a science textbook) but to point readers to the scriptures to shape their awe and wonder. Theologically faithful and creatively fun, this would make a great addition to family devotions.

5.0 out of 5 stars Great for kids, or as a family devotional

This book is perfect as a devotional for a child (probably late elementary and up – the language is really accessible and it’s designed not to go over kids’ heads), but would also make a really great family devotional. The main focus of the book is heaven, but the author does an excellent job weaving Old Testament stories and the Gospel message throughout. The format is engaging, with short reading, places to draw, quizzes, and Scripture to explore. Our family hasn’t reached a consensus yet on whether you will have to take showers in heaven, but we all agree that we love this book!
